IPG’s Retreat from Australia, Optus’s World Cup Move, and Commercial Radio Goes National

Welcome to Best of the Week, written on Friday at my apartment in Sydney, from which I rarely ventured since Wednesday, other than a brief trip for a (negative) Covid test. If a health professional hasn’t inserted something deep into the back of your nose, can you say you’ve truly experienced the early 2020s? Turns out I had a cold. Remember how we used to get those in the days we weren’t keeping our distance from each other? Mind you, it may well have been the worst cold anyone had ever experienced, ever, though. I was very brave.
