Welcome to Best of the Week, kicked off on Wednesday morning during my brief Rex Airlines flight to King Island. Admittedly I thought it was going straight to Melbourne when I booked it, but for $100.85 what are you gonna do? In much the same way Qantas’s Kangaroo Route used to take in Darwin, Singapore, Calcutta, Karachi, Cairo and Tripoli along the way, my trip back to NSW was Burnie - King Island - Melbourne - Sydney. Still, King Island looked pleasant enough for the 15 minutes we were on the ground, which wasn’t even enough time to buy cheese.
