Blackie McDonald Communication Group launches digital division
The Blackie McDonald Communication Group (BMCG) in Sydney has launched a new digital division bmcddigital.
The announcement:
Blackie McDonald has launched a new division – bmcddigital – to formalise its current client offerings in the social media and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) strategy and management space.
The new business division was formed following the merger of Blackie McDonald with Sydney-based company Video, Social, Marketing P/L headed by Meredith Collins.
The new bmcddigital team also includes Karl Castan, an e-commerce and SEO specialist.
Executive Chairman, Tony Blackie, said the addition of Meredith Collins and Karl Castan to the Blackie McDonald team is a major boost to the organisation’s social media offering.
“For too long social media and SEO activities have been on the periphery of communication strategies for organisations big and small. The formation of bmcddigital integrates these two disciplines for the benefit of our consultants and clients,” said Blackie.
“Meredith Collins has a huge amount of experience in the development of successful social media strategies for organisations such as the Commonwealth Bank, Westpac and Rotary. She brings a depth of knowledge coupled with practical application skills that mean the difference between strategies that work and those that don’t,” he added.
For 25 years, Blackie McDonald has provided Public Relations, Marketing and Corporate Communication services to clients across a range of industry sectors.
The company was one of the first PR firms in Australia to provide web-based services through its subsidiary Guava Interactive, which was sold in 2003.
According to Meredith Collins, businesses are currently operating in highly volatile and dynamic environments and as a result organisations are increasingly reliant on well planned and executed social media strategies.
“Joining forces with Blackie McDonald presents a compelling argument to businesses to look more closely at the integration of their social media/SEO and communication functions. Better integration leads to more effective programs and ultimately better results.
“Blackie McDonald’s clients now have access to expertise that will significantly increase their share of voice, enhance their market visibility and build, maintain and protect their online reputations,” said Collins.
