Last month we looked at the top spending betting brands. This time round, we look at a different type of gaming, revealing the top five spending game brands for September in terms of their advertising spend according to Nielsen Ad Intelligence.

Game advertising spend in September 

In September, the total Games category spend was $7.1m, according to Nielsen.

Meanwhile, Nielsen Consumer & Media View data indicates that Games are in the top five when it comes to shopping gift intentions for Christmas. According to the data, 19% of Aussies plan to spend on Christmas gaming, budgeting around $200. 

Below we will reveal the top five in spend order.

  4. Take 2 Interactive Software

  5. Volka Entertainment

Pixonic – War Robots

War Robots is a mobile app game created from game developer Pixonic. It’s a shooter form at, offering live player-versus-player battles in which participants control robots on a battlefield.

EA Sports took the excitement of matchday into the lounge room in the preorder campaign for FIFA 23, which launched at the end of September.

The extended Marvel Universe is the base of tactical role playing game Midnight Suns

Volka Entertainment – Taonga the Island Farm

Simple farming game Taonga completes the top five, with the Pacific island providing the backdrop for the gameplay.


Unmade Index: Middling Monday

The Unmade Index of listed media and marketing companies lagged the wider ASX in a muted start to the week. While the All Ords rose by 1.6% on Monday, the Unmade Index was up by half that at 0.83%.

Real estate platform Domain led the pack, up 2.6%, while Seven West Media and Southern Cross Austereo were not far behind, both rising by 2.25%.
