1.1m Socceroo fans tune in for the worst breakfast of all time

More than a million Australians got out of bed for Monday’s 4.30am Socceroos game, according to overnight metro ratings from OzTam.

In SBS’s biggest TV audience of the year, an average of 1.1m people tuned in to the disappointing 4-0 thrashing of Australia at the hands of Germany.

Along with nearly half a million people for the Netherlands-Denmark game, Monday saw SBS reach a free to air viewing share of 8.1%.

The Queen’s Birthday Holiday in most states of Australia also appeared to boost viewing across the board, with Ten’s Masterchef pulling in more than 1.9m viewers. Good News Week reached a series high of 1.4m, while The 7PM Project broke the 1m mark again, helping Ten to a win for Monday night.
