More than 1.5m tune in for Masterchef winner announcement
Ten saw 1.875m metro viewers tune in last night to see NSW teacher Elena Duggan crowned the 2016 Masterchef after a five-hour cooking challenge set by Heston Blumenthal.
The winner announcement portion of last night’s grand final was down on last year, which saw 2.13m tune in to witness Billie McKay’s victory; however, it was up on the season premiere, which pulled in 1.012m.
The show itself, which started at 7:30pm and ran until 9:40pm, attracted 1.711m viewers, down on last year’s average audience of 1.84m – with Melbourne the biggest market with 703,000 viewers from the city watching the winner announcement.
