13 Cabs launches parcel delivery service

13 Cabs has begun a delivery service, offering to pick up and deliver goods and parcels, in an effort to counter the impact coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on the taxi industry.

Speaking to Mumbrella, Jim Ingram, chief creative tinker at 13 Cabs’ creative agency Thinkerbell, said that the introduction of delivery service has been in the pipeline for a while, with plans to launch it in an integrated campaign. However, given the current demand for an “immediate” and “24/7 delivery service”, Ingram said the decision was made to launch the service now via EDMs and social media messaging.

Booking a delivery is similar to arranging a regular taxi trip

Bookings can be made through the 13 Cabs app, enabling users to book a taxi as they would if they were travelling. They then fill in an option to mark it as a parcel.
