141 turn out for Microsoft mayor swarm as Vibe gets into Foursquare too

Foursquare meetup mumbrellaMicrosoft has become one of the first major brands in Australia to make a foray into location-based social media service Foursquare with a meet-up of mayors organised in Sydney to promote the launch of Office 2010.

The project, which saw Foursquare mayors – people who have checked into a given location the largest number of times – offered free copies of the software in exchange for turning up at Sydney’s Martin Place – generated 141 check-ins.

The launch – which also utilised Facebook and YouTube – was organised by Ogilvy PR.
