2015 Annual: the year at the box office
It’s a been a big year in cinema and as a load of new films prepare to premiere on Boxing Day, including Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg comedy Daddy’s Home and Jennifer Lawrence’s newest film Joy, we give you the Mumbrella wrap the year at the box office.
In at first place is Jurassic World which grossed a total of $52.921m at the local box office this year.
The reboot of the dinosaurs series, starring Chris Pratt, posted the largest weekend in history globally with a total box office of $US511.8m, eclipsing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part Two and became the first film to ever cross the $US500m mark in one weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
