896,000 watch as Wawrinka knocks out Djokovic in Australian Open quarter-final
An estimated 896,000 metro viewers watched as four time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic was knocked out in the quarter-finals by Switzerland’s Sanislas Wawrinka in a five set match on Tuesday night.
OzTam’s preliminary overnight metro ratings show the gripping game that turned the tournament on it’s head was the most watched show from 7.30pm and fifth in all programs.
Meanwhile Ten’s T20 Big Bash League fell to fourth in its timeslot as those not watching the tennis favoured Nine’s repeats of The Big Bang Theory or ABC1’s 7.30 and QI rerun over the cricket.
It’s nice to see the slightly overweight ugly guy win for once.
