ABC backs journo after sexual harassment claims rock NSW Parliament

The ABC has backed former state political correspondent Ashleigh Raper following her making public details of sexual harassment allegations against NSW opposition leader, Luke Foley.

Foley has been on the defensive since claims of his sexually harassing a female journalist were raised under parliamentary privilege earlier this month.

ABC reporter, Ashliegh Raper: “Women should be able to go about their professional lives and socialise without being subject to this sort of behaviour.”

Today the ABC released a statement supporting Raper, saying the broadcaster first became aware of the allegations earlier this year following media inquiries. At the time, Raper did not want to make a formal complaint and wished to keep the matter private.
