ABC News website down with ‘technical outage’

The ABC News website has been down since early this afternoon on desktop preventing readers from accessing its content.

A message on the site this afternoon says it is experiencing “a technical outage” on its desktop site, which was the third most visited in the country in September with a unique audience of 2.942m users.

The ABC has posted a selection of headlines and abstracts from some of its top news stories to the page, but there are no clickable links. It has also created a live blog to give rolling updates on events while the site is down.

So the ScribbleLive Live Blog saved the day and hosted the site for most of the day.

Easy, real-time publishing on a hosted subdomain – livenews.abc.net.au. Looks perfect and costed much less than 40Million
