ABC radio boss Sue Howard quits

The ABC is parting company with its long serving Director of Radio and Regional Content Sue Howard, it announced this afternoon. According to commentator Margaret Simons, Haward’s departure is tied up with a wholesale rethink of the ABC radio structure which will see specialist programs developed as multi media “brands”. She suggests that Howard opposed the moves.

In October it was revealed that some of Radio National’s best know programs including the Religion Report and the Media Report faced the axe.
