ABC surges in December 2019 Nielsen figures as Australians hunt for bushfire coverage
The historically quiet holiday period has seen numbers stay relatively high for December 2019 in the Nielsen Digital Content Rankings as Australians flock to online news for information about the bushfire crisis across the country.
During this time, ABC News Websites rose 5.56% to 10.055m in unique audience, taking second place from Nine which dropped 2.77% to 9.433m. News.com.au fell back below 11m, a record it cracked for the first time in November, drawing a UA of 10.593m, a 5.66% drop.

Why are comparison sites (with large traffic) not mentioend in this list like Finder and Canstar?

The list we cover only includes publishers which are tagged in the ‘news’ category. If you look at the bottom of the graphic you can see all the information about what category the websites are tagged.
You are right, a lot of those sites have big traffic, but we’re reporting specifically on the news sites.
