ABC TV loses two of its most senior executives

ABcThe ABC this afternoon announced the departure of two of its most senior television executives, head of fiction Carole Sklan and head of children’s Deirdre Brennan.

Sklan is departing the public broadcaster after six years in the senior script development and production role while Brennan is understood to be leaving to pursue new opportunities within the international market.

Sklan is responsible for much of the ABC’s drama content over the past few years, including Rake, The Code, Glitch and Jack Irish, while Brennan led children’s content for the past three years, having previously held roles at BBC Worldwide.

Richard Finlayson, director of ABC television, said in a statement: “We are incredibly sad to see Carole leave. She has helped create an outstanding body of work since 2009, and under her leadership the ABC Fiction team has supported the production of over 400 hours of Australian drama and comedy, and won countless awards.”
