‘You Can’t Ask That’ commissioned by ABC for third series following Rose d’Or win
ABC series ‘You Can’t Ask That’ has been commissioned for a third series, the broadcaster has confirmed after the show won the Rose d’Or best reality and factual entertainment award in Berlin on Tuesday.
The series features confronting questions asked to individuals from disadvantaged groups. Guests have ranged from centenarians being asked what it’s like to live past 100 to suicide attempt survivors and those with Down Syndrome.
Aaron Smith, the show’s director and co-producer, said in a media statement after the win: “This show started from a small idea that then grew to be recognised on a global scale. You Can’t Ask That 100% relies on the graciousness and bravery of the participants who are kind enough to lend their voice. We wish to say thank you to those who put their trust in us.”

Well deserved, great show.
This is a great show and just one of many from the ABC at the moment.
Congrats to all involved. A fantastic idea and one of my favourite shows of the past few years. Brilliantly delivers on ABC’s charter while also being entertaining.
