Adelaide radio ratings: 5AA leapfrogs Mix102.3 to claim weekday market lead

DMG’s FiveAA has leapfrogged the Adelaide radio market leader Mix102.3 in the weekday ratings from Nielsen.

FiveAA, which suffered the biggest fall in listeners in the last survey, increased its Monday to Friday ratings by more than any other station – up 1.1 percentage points – to overtake Mix102.3 and claim 13.4% of the weekday market.

However, Mix102.3 clings on to the mantle of Adelaide’s most popular station for the full week by 0.2% share – with 13.3% compared to FiveAA’s 13.1%.With the exception of the breakfast slot, FiveAA increased listeners in all time slots. A chunk of FiveAA’s improved ratings came in the 12pm to 4pm afternoon slot, which is to say goodbye to long-serving talk radio host Amanda Blair.

Mix102.3’s weekday ratings slipped by less than one percentage point overall, with the biggest falls coming at drive time and the 7pm to midnight slots.

Tripe M was the second biggest climber after FiveAA, its breakfast show The Hot Breakfast responsible for much of the growth, up to 8.5% share of breakfast-time listeners.
