Adland rallies around ex-agency CEO Pat Crowley after family hit by double blow

The media and marketing industry has rallied around former Australian CEO of GroupM’s EssenceMediacom, Pat Crowley, after his son suffered a severe spinal cord injury in a mountain bike accident.

On 10 September, 17-year-old Fletcher Crowley had a life-altering accident.

The Crowley family

Crowley’s eldest son, Levi, has a rare form of cancer, Von Hippel-Lindau, and requires regular medical treatment.

A Go Fund Me has been launched on behalf of the family to raise funds to support Fletcher and Levi, which, at the time of publication, has raised over AU$150,000.

“When people tell you that life can change in a split second, you think you know what that means. Then something happens to your family and you understand exactly,” the Go Fund Me page reads.

“To have two kids facing such immense challenges requires a special kind of fortitude. The words ‘shit-show’ have been mentioned a few times by the Crowleys and you can’t help but think that’s exactly how it must feel for this beautiful family.”

GroupM ANZ posted on LinkedIn: “This news puts everything in perspective and we are sending all our love and positive vibes to Fletcher and the family.”

CEO of GroupM, Aimee Buchanan, shared the post and commented: “This news of Pat Crowley and his son Fletcher’s accident is heartbreaking.

“The way he and his family have rallied is awe inspiring.”

The funds raised via Go Fund Me will go towards home modifications and a modified vehicle for Fletcher, and to help cover the mounting medical bills for both boys.
