Advertisers offered new long form options as pay TV signs up Best Job Ben Southall
Subscription TV viewers who want to see a long form version of an ad will be able to have it transferred to their Foxtel box by pressing a button, the boss of sales house MCN said today, as he also revealed that Best Job In The World will become a TV series.
Speaking at a briefing for media agencies and advertisers about the coming programming lineup for pay TV, MCN CEO Anthony Fitzgerald, pictured, referred to the new “record me” option that was announced last month to allow consumers to press the green button to set a show to be recorded when they see a trailer. He revealed the same functionality will be enabled for advertisers, from early next year.
He said: “MCN is in a position to adapt this functionality to offer green button ‘bookable advertising’ in the first quarter of 2010. This new advertising model will provide consumers with the ability to record long format advertising or branded entertainment content directly to the hard drive from a standard length commercial.”
Meanwhile, the network unveiled a range of new programming.
