AFL delivers a comfortable Thursday win for Seven

Seven’s Thursday Night Football topped non-news programming overnight, with an average of 582,000 metro viewers tuning in to watch the Brisbane Lions beat Geelong.

While the match had only a smattering of viewers in Sydney (31,000), it unsurprisingly brought in big numbers in Melbourne (297,000) and Brisbane (107,000) to help Seven to a nightly network share win

It was the first time in more than a decade that Brisbane’s average audience for an AFL match topped 100,000. The AFL coverage also took out the 16-39 age demo for Seven, while Seven News won 18-49 and 25-54.
