Fairfax’s The Australian Financial Review, News Corp’s The Australian and national broadcaster ABC all took home awards at last night’s Citi Journalism Awards for Excellence.
The AFR’s Chanticleer columnist Tony Boyd won the top prize, while media writer Max Mason was named Young Business Journalist of the Year for his coverage of CBS’ acquisition of Ten.

AFR won an award for the CPA witch hunt! OMG, that was a low point for Australian journalism and lost me as an AFR reader. I thought AFR was better than that tabloid sensationalism.
Judges – have another read of Joe Aston’s extremely personal attack. Perhaps the real story is why Joe targeted Mr Malley in the first place! (…and yes there is a real story there).
But boy did we see some interesting outcomes!!!!
