An editorial review gets shitty
Robert Lukins, an arts writer at weekly music mag Inpress, has taken the expression of disapproval to new lows.
In a rant to Dr Mumbo, Lukins accuses Sunday Herald journalist Wayne Flower of “an attempt to generate disquiet among the Herald Sun readership” in an article about the Melbourne street artist/vandal (depending on your view) Lush.
Not only does Lukins question the factual inaccuracy of the piece, which he says “intentionally misrepresented the subjects of his article.” He goes after its “moral intent” too.
So what better way to claim the moral high ground than to… write a stinging critique of the offending article with a picture of your very own excrement on the masthead of the offending paper?
Hmm.
Dr Mumbo can only imagine what Lukins does when he likes something he’s read.
horrifying!
The source for Flower’s story is a self-discredited vigilante. See http://indolentdandy.net/fitzr.....-criminal/
The only pleasure I get out of this, is knowing the idiot (read fuckwit) will then have had to go to the trouble of cleaning up his own shit off of the paper.
On top of that, he actually had to go out to purchase a copy of the H/Sun to make his ‘statement’, thus contributing to the cause of a paper he despises, I love that bit.
Finally, what kind of human goes to the trouble that this twit did, taking a dump, then neatly arranging said dump so that it’s in the frame of the shot along with the masthead, and arranging wasps around the previously mention dump? I mean seriously??? What does he do in his spare time? Feed the hostage he has hidden down the well in his dungeon while telling the hostage, “It rubs the lotion on it’s skin…”
@Bucks if you read his article you will see he didn’t pay for the paper.
I agree it’s not a pleasant way of making a point and rather difficult to read the article without being distracted by the unpleasant photo. But in context of what he is saying in the article it makes a little sense.
@MattP you are 100% correct, I didn’t read the article. Unlike him, if I can see an article is going to annoy me, I dont proceed to read it, hence I can keep my turds in the toilet, rather than use them to try make a point, (which failed in getting the message to me and probably many others turned off for the same reason.
I get what you are saying but I do appreciate that you can understand why people would be turned off of even considering reading his point with that.
It is called Excrementalism
