APN News & Media to scrap Sunshine Coast Daily Sunday edition

APN News & Media’s Australian Regional Media division is ceasing the Sunday edition of the Sunshine Coast Daily, instead creating a weekend paper.

The newspaper will relaunch an expanded Saturday weekend edition from October 8 with the final Sunday edition to be sold on October 2.

At the same time, there will be a focus on building and improving the masthead’s digital offering, with a particular focus on boosting online content over the weekend.

Typical of News, scale back local operation and commitment in favour of the big city. Now they will claim circulation growth for the Sunday Mail, but total papers old will be less… its all about feeding and making the Sunday Mail look good. Not a good sign for local readers and workers.
