ARIA Charts: Paul Kelly and The Cure debut in top 5

Paul Kelly has been denied his fourth number one album by US rapper, Tyler, The Creator, who occupies the top spot again this week on the ARIA Albums chart.

Tyler, The Creator’s first #1 album, Chromakopia (in which Sony’s major label tricks beat Universal’s) remains on top of the chart for a second week, while last week’s #2, Amyl and the Sniffers’ Cartoon Darkness, dropped to #49. Sabrina Carpenter jumped back to take #2, leaving Paul Kelly’s 28th studio album, Fever Longing Still, to take #3.

Chase Atlantic scored their first ARIA-charting album with Lost In Heaven crashing in to debut at #4 this week, ahead of UK icons The Cure’s first album since 2008, Songs of a Lost World, which landed at #5.

Coldplay’s Australian tour has seen the band’s latest album, Moon Music, re-enter the Top 50 at #6 after falling out of the chart after just four weeks.

Lower down, two other Aussie veterans make strong debuts: John Butler enters at #23 with Still Searching, while Sarah Blasko’s I Just Need To Conquer This Mountain enters at #37.

Over on the Singles chart, New Zealand artist Rosé and Bruno Mars hold the top spot for a third straight week with APT, while Gracie Abrams climbs from #8 to snatch #2 with That’s So True.

Coldplay’s Aussie run has also seen their perennial classic, Yellow, re-enter the charts at #14, along with Viva La Vida at #21, Something Just Like This at #30, and A Sky Full Of Stars at #36.
