Audiences build for The Block, Celeb Apprentice and Gogglebox in absence of Bachelorette
The absence of The Bachelorette gave some clear air for other reality shows last night with The Block, Celebrity Apprentice and Highway Patrol all lifting their audiences.
A repeat of Highway Patrol at 8pm was actually the most-watched entertainment show of the evening, helping Seven to a comfortable audience win along with new Jason Bourne-esque US drama Blindspot last night which managed 888,000 between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
On ABC the season return of Kitchen Cabinet with Annabel Crabb drew 687,000 while Gruen at 8.40pm held steady with 904,000 and Shaun Micalleff’s show The Ex-Prime Minister dropped again from 660,000 viewers to 580,000 at 9.10pm.
Shaun Micalleff’s show The Ex-Prime Minister has some good gags, but it is let down by the production. Not enough time spent on establishing who is who while many of the scenes appear rushed. It comes over as a stand up comedy show linking gag lines in an effort to create a situation comedy.
