Aussie Dave Droga to head up Cannes’ most prestigious jury

david-droga1Dave Droga, Australia’s most celebrated advertising export, is to head the prestigious titanium and integrated jury for this June’s Cannes Lions awards.

Droga, who is now New York-based and boss of the highly succesful Droga5, is the most awarded creative in the history of the Cannes Advertising Festival. He said: “I am extremely flattered to be asked. These categories represent the two most exciting and important dimensions of our industry.”

The Integrated category celebrates advertising ideas that work across several mediums. Last year it went to McCann Worldgroup for its Halo 3 “Believe” campaign for the Xbox 360 featuring a museum of the future celebrating the battles that had taken place there.

And just one Titanium is given out, as the top award of the festival. Last year Droga picked it up himself for his “Million” project for the New York City Department of Education. It was a project that involved giving mobile phones to students with rewards of airtime and texts based around behaviour and achievement.
