Aussies asked to ditch pumpkins for pineapples this Halloween
Dr Mumbo was intrigued today to hear of a new proposition to make pineapples the new face of Australia’s Halloween festivities.
To be clear, Dr Mumbo despises Australia’s apparent adoption of the American quasi-holiday. But, pumpkins are sticky and disgusting, and apples and bananas probably wouldn’t be a good choice either, so Dr Mumbo does not completely despise this idea.
I love this idea! What I despise about the adoption of Halloween in Australia is using pumpkins in our spring/summer months, when they are not in season and often have to be shipped from the US and Canada. So unsustainable and not suitable for our climate – I hope the spooky pines take off!
