Australian miniseries Top of The Lake wins Emmy Award

Top-of-the-lakeAustralian miniseries Top of the Lake has won the Emmy Award for outstanding cinematography at the ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday night.

The TV series created by Jane Campion and Gerard Lee, is also up for five Emmy Award nominations in the Primetime Emmy Awards next weekend.

Campion co-directed the series of six one hour episodes with rising Australian director Garth Davis and Australian Adam Arkapaw was the cinematographer.

The story follows a detective as he investigates the disappearance of a 12-year-old pregnant girl – the daughter of a drug lord – was filmed around New Zealand’s Queenstown.
