Australian Open Men’s Final draws biggest TV audiences since 2017

Over 6.3 million Aussies tuned in at some point during Sunday night’s thrilling Carlos Alcaraz victory over Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open men’s final, with an average audience of 3.45m.

The clash between the world’s tennis aces was the highest-rated men’s final since Roger Federer defeated Rafael Nadal in the 2017 final, a matchup widely considered one of the best tennis battles in modern history.

Last night’s average audience of 3.448m was up 67% on the prior year’s final, with the 905,000 broadcast video-on-demand, via 9Now, viewers up by 135.7% year-on-year.
