Australian Survivor finale audience falls 300,000 on previous year
The finale of Ten’s Australian Survivor saw 787,000 metro viewers tune in to see Victoria’s Jericho Malabonga win the title of sole survivor, down nearly 300,000 metro viewers on last year’s finale.

Spoiler alert would have been nice
Hi Richard,
The spoiler alert was indicating what the story was about in the headline without stating the winner. Once you choose to click on a story about the Survivor finale, I think it’s reasonable to expect to hear about the winner.
On a side issue, I do share your pain. Speaking as someone who had recorded the episode to watch tonight: Thanks fuckloads, MailOnline…
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
What was with the winner announcement being shot from a studio in Sydney? Seemed disjointed and didn’t follow the narrative of the series at all….weird.
That’s how the US series has ended for the past 30+ seasons. Not weird at all if you’re a survivor fan!
Shame the numbers were down. Season was a belter, production was stunning, story arcs consistently entertaining and miles better than last year.
But Survivor suffers from being harder to get into if you aren’t onboard from the early episodes and invested in the cast – unlike a show like the Block that you can drop into at any point and pick up on who’s who and what’s going on. I caught some of The Block last night, for the first time this season, and I was immediately beaten into submission by the rampant integrated product placement, the captain obvious music accompaniment to anything that was said or happening, and by Scott Cam in general.
Also the comedic value of the tight five spent on who left the skidmarks in a toilet clearly went well over my comedic head. But we can’t all find the same things funny now can we?
It was the lead article this morning with a giant grinning picture of Jericho. No clicking required.
