Australian television’s ‘Fuck Trump’ moment

Dr Mumbo doesn’t mind the occasional Monday morning profanity – but rarely expects to hear it on traditional broadcast television at this time.
The Australian feed of the Tony Awards, however, has garnered international attention after Twitter user Rhett Bartlett posted footage from the event, which failed to censor actor Robert de Niro’s anti-Trump tirade.
Here’s video of DeNiro swearing at Trump on #TonyAwards

According to the Twitterverse – Dr Mumbo’s favourite universe – and now numerous international news outlets, “Fuck Trump” was bleeped out in international broadcasts, but made it across the line in Australia on Foxtel Arts.
Dr Mumbo waits with bated breath to see if the expletive-laden monologue makes it to air in the Australian re-run during prime time, but notes not everybody was celebrating the headline-grabbing moment.
Ugh! Robert De Niro just made sure all the 24 news will cover of the #TonyAwards will be his profanity and not any of the other amazing speeches about diversity, acceptance, & resistance.

De Niro is just saying what everyone is thinking
‘The Deer Hunter’ was forty years ago, and ‘Taxi Driver’ even longer. It’s not a large corpus, but De Niro appears willing to overshadow it by acts of stupidity. Sad!
Fuck Trump.
Yes but what did Trump actually do? He’s seems to be doing good things lately. Calling someone names just for the sake of it just makes you look stupid.
Don’t be delusional. Trump is a very dangerous man playing an extremely dangerous game.
