Australian TV viewers chose bed over cricket crushing
TV viewers turned away from the cricket on Sunday night rather than watch Australia being trounced by England in The Ashes.
Just 355,000 tuned into the first session on Gem – nearly 50 per cent down on last Sunday’s 679,000 for the final day of the much closer first test.
Last night saw Australia beaten by an embarrassing 347 runs with a day to spare.
Just 246,000 tuned in for the second session – compared to 558,000 last Sunday – a drop of nearly 60 per cent.
It’s OK. The DRS third umpire is clearly not watching as well.
