Australian veterans featured in RSL Queensland’s new campaign ahead of ANZAC Day
RSL Queensland has revealed an emotional campaign ahead of ANZAC Day titled ‘Shoulder to shoulder, always’.
Created by Rumble Creative, the 45-second cinema spot features the two Australian veterans travelling to a dawn service.
Unfortunately this man is not a veteran so someone needs to do their research.
If he is genuine and unless he served there from 64 on, after his service ” in 62″ ,he isn’t entitled to the Vietnam medal( as worn) and his name does not appear as a recipient of the GSM, clasp “South Vietnam” for service prior to 64

As a 30+year veteran of RAN I am constantly requested to join the RSL in my town. I recognise the great work that has been done for decades. However given recent events I find myself abjectly distrustful of the RSL Executive and their motivations. Changes to the Governance and leadership will, I am confident, rectify some of the issues but I am afraid that the damage is significant and long lasting. Support to newer veterans is lacking and the reticence to elect “fresh blood and new eyes” is very telling. As Jackie Lambie asked what has happened to all the money raised ?
Perhaps the RSL has run its course?
