Bachelor in Paradise pulls 539,000 viewers for Alex and Richie reunion episode
Ten’s much-promoted reunion between 2016’s Bachelor Richie Strahan and his ex-girlfriend Alex Nation on last night’s Bachelor in Paradise drew 539,000 metro viewers for Ten.
Ten had been promoting the episode as the uncut and raw story Australia had to see, noting it was not going to edit or manipulate the footage any way.

What’s with all the Bachelor plugs mumbrella?
Are we now saying 539,000 for a major much promoted tv show is a good performance?
Hi Osher’s evil twin (even though you’re the evil one, do you still have glorious hair?),
I think if you ‘Ctrl + F’, you will find that I never said it was a ‘good’ performance. In fact I didn’t just an adjective – just the numbers: 539,000.
I make it clear it was outperformed by My Kitchen Rules, but that it did win two of the three key advertising demographics. Again, no judgement on performance, just the facts from OzTAM.
Given how much Ten promoted the program, and the social and mainstream media discussions about what happened on the episode today, its ratings seemed relevant and interesting.
People in our industry are watching Ten’s performance very closely at the moment, so the articles about the Bachelor aren’t necessarily plugs – just information and general interest.
There is an article in the pipeline in the coming days about Nine’s plans and performance in a post-MAFS world, so we’re spreading the love/plugs/stories/scrutiny/information/analysis – whatever you’d like to call it.
Vivienne – Mumbrella
Not sure what’s all the hoo-haa about….that bloody thing was advertised numreous bloody times, it was like “puke inducing” amount of times.
Completely normal everyday couple stuff sensationalised merelt for cheap public attention. Bunch of loonies!
While watching Channel 10 over about a week, we were subjected to the overhyped absolute crap about Bachelor In Paradise and two [edited under Mumbrella’s comment moderation policy] by the names of Alex and Richie – what are their claims to fame by the way? This was more than enough for the remote not to go even near 10 when it was EVENTUALLY shown. Thank god its over.
Well, I just noticed the comments today on Studio 10 that Kerri Anne – who by the way is with Network 10, called Bachelor in Paradise moronic! Deja vu…my comments on 11 April above, where they were “omitted”. Um
