Bauer Media joins campaign against ‘unfair and discriminatory’ tampon tax
Bauer Media has launched a campaign to rally against taxes placed on gender-specific goods and services including tampons, pads and sanitary items.
Created by Bauer Media’s Story54, the ‘No Gender Selective Tax’ campaign features black and white profile images of both men and women describing why being taxed for being a woman should end.

Here I go and I am ready for criticism. 10 tampons cost $5 and if a woman used 20 tampons a month then we are taking about $12 a year max. I spend $6 on Nivea shaving cream every fortnight. Maybe a better solution is to tax my shaving cream. And don’t get me starred on the cost of Gillette razors…….

Let’s remove the tax on toilet rolls as well while we’re at it then!
No way! It’s not a necessity. Use your hand.. or maple leafs.
I think its only fair the tax is there. You can’t have some women’s products taxed and others not… and these must haves are used more frequently than once a month. Deodorant, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush….
Typical Bauer, much easier to launch a #bloodyannoying campaign, rather than addressing the unfair gender/age pay differences within their organisation.
