Beauty and the Geek Australia final just cuts above 800,000

Ratings were up for the final episode of Channel Seven’s matchmaking reality show Beauty and the Geek with  just over 800,000 viewers making it themost watched entertainment program of the night.

The show won its timeslot across two hours of prime time from 7.30pm and was the top rating program in people 25-54, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.

Last year the final averaged 740,000 for Seven, which had been a drop from previous years when it rated over 1m.

David Attenborough’s Secrets of Wild India on Channel Nine averaged 771,000 at 7.30pm and was fifth in people 25-54.
