Ben Fordham confirmed for 2GB role
Sydney talk station 2GB has confirmed Nine’s Ben Fordham, as its drive show host, replacing the defecting Jason Morrison.
Fordham – who will also continue to work for Nine – will present Sydney Live from 3-6pm Monday to Friday from 3.00pm – 6.00pm, starting next week.
MRN Chairman Russell Tate said, “Ben is a great talent and we’re excited to have him join the 2GB team. He is a Walkley award winning journalist and proved a strong on air talent during his fill in role last summer.”
Fordham said: “I thrive on the instantaneous nature of talk radio and can’t wait to get behind the microphone on Monday.”
What a pity 2GB didn’t put Jim Ball in as Drive Time host. Ben Fordham might be talented/well credentialed but his voice is not one I can see myself listening to for three hours.

Yes, I like Ben Fordham but I also liked Jason Morrison. I think Jim Ball would be a great replacement for Ray Hadley if he ever leaves. Not much chance of that I fear.

Jim Ball has been a very pleasant surprise on morning radio. I prefer him to Chris Smith and Ben Fordham. Also Andrew Moore is fantastic.

Well the boye Fordham, goes on radio. Mate some blokes have all the luck. Is it his talent ? Or is it the power of the sur-name.
I do not think he has done any voice training. Sounds like he has had too many VB’S the night before ? Give me Duck Creek, Markey Levy, the 1-Iron, Jim Ball, Andrew Moore, these blokes have done the hard yards, and really work for their reputation, and profile.
I suspect he will goof up big time, which will corroborate Hadley’s personal view apart from his corporate view, that he ( BF- the boye), is a wanker and too big for his own boots. Interesting to see what the next two cycles of ratings show up.
But some blokes have all the luck. Those that HAVE and those that have NOT.

You are 100% correct, pilgrim. The word is mispelt it should have been “apprise”. Two “p’s”- not one.

Disagree pilgrim. You can have an opinion on something, it may be an expressed or an implied assertion about some subject matter. That is an opinion. People have opinion/s about a myriad of things. Facts can always be distilled from opinons.
The question will always be what weight we attach to opinions. The more closely aligned to facts or the more facts are “planked” together to form the opinion, the more reliable or weighty the opinion will be. You have an opinion about your journalist friend, I have an opinion about that chap also. I could be bias. I will let the passage of time decide, about my early forecast/s. You apparently have some bias, through your dealings with that chap. It’s been good, engaging you in the niceties in the art of “straight” and “crooked” thinking.
