Benedict Evans’ first world problem

Dr Mumbo is a big fan of marketing analyst Benedict Evans, a mainstay of the global speaking circuit.

But the audience may not fully appreciate the level of suffering he goes through on their behalf. Evans shared the following tale of woe to Threads:

“If I agree to speak at your conference on Tuesday afternoon, that means I’ve agreed to be there on Tuesday afternoon.

“It does not mean I’ve agreed to take an overnight flight on Sunday evening and attend your speaker dinner on Monday, and then stay on in your city for a lunch on Wednesday. If you wanted that, you needed to ask.”

Imagine the audacity of an event organiser wanting to show some hospitality to their (Dr Mumbo suspects), handsomely paid guest speaker.
