Big Bang prequel Young Sheldon premieres with 1.053m, while Spartan fizzles

The premiere of Young Sheldon on Nine last night topped the ratings ladder – and the key advertising demographic of 25 to 54s – with 1.053m metro viewers.

Young Sheldon proved a ratings winner for Nine

Over on Seven, the embattled Australian Spartan franchise slipped to 401,000 metro viewers – down from 473,000 on Sunday night – leaving the network in third place with a 15.3% share, behind Nine (20.5%) and ABC (16.4%). 

Ten was in fourth place with a share of 13.2%, as the second episode of Bachelor in Paradise pulled 656,000 metro viewers, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.
