Big Brother page hits 100,000 likes
The Facebook page for Nine’s forthcoming new series of Big Brother has passed 100,000 likes before the series even goes to air.
The reality contest – which previously aired for eight seasons on Ten from 2001 to 2008 – will go to air on Nine after the Olympics.
The network is today asking fans to head to Sydney’s Olympic Park to participate in a new ad for the show.
Wel done Lu!
That’s 100,000+ wasted brain cells.
are they all Australian?
How many are paid/organic??? Anyone can buy 100,000 likes.
It’s going to be interesting to watch the social media integration on this show. It will need to be a step up from the already great The Voice and Australia’s Got Talent.
Since the contestants won’t be able to tweet from inside the Big Brother house, I wonder how the show producers will overcome that as talent tweeting/posting is one of the best ways to reach out to audiences.
Hahha – I wonder what the real state of play on Facebook is, everyone I know has quit.
I image it’s mostly businesses paying astroturfers to like their crap in some bizarre, digital echo-chamber of over-marketed madness.
At least someone’s making money out of it, even if it is just some kid in Indonesia with 5,000 accounts and some nice scripts.
A meaningless statistic.
Who gives a……it’s gonna end up on Go in a few short weeks. The Voice concert dogged on Sunday, The Voice U.S is a barking failure & BB will limp over very quickly. Advertisers watch out & get a guarantee – you’ll need it! Woof woof
100,000 isn’t really that impressive these days, and how are those numbers converting? Is there engagement? Is there sharing? Is there actually quality content? The Block page might have done well, but it was pretty ordinary content, and my gosh they spammed! As Peter said, without talent contributing anything, it’s just a page posting some videos and links to their website.
