Big Brother pulls in nearly 1.5m for last episode of series

Big Brother 2013 - Tim Dormer winnerThe final episode of Big Brother brought more than 1.4m metro viewers to Channel Nine last night as housemate Tim Dormer was named the winner.

Nine cleared two and a half hours of its schedule for the grand final which averaged 1.31m, with audiences growing to 1.98m for the winner announcement and 1.474m for the final celebration.

The show has averaged around 800,000 viewers for the network four nights a week since its launch in July, and has consistently performed strongly in the 25-54 demographic where it was often the top program. Last night the show again topped 25-54s and Channel Nine announced it will return next year.

Meanwhile The Bachelor on Channel Ten averaged 704,000 metro viewers and was fifth in people 25-54. During the episode bachelor Tim Robards visited the homes of the remaining four girls and said farewell to events organiser Danielle. The show drew in more viewers than Seven’s Slideshow which averaged 591,000 in the 7.30pm timeslot.
