The Block tops ratings as Zumbo arrests audience slide

The Block enjoyed another dominant night of ratings, drawing 921,000 viewers to claim the title of most-watched general entertainment show on Monday night.

Zumbo's Just DessertsWhile the renovation show owned the evening at 7:30pm, Seven’s foodie show Zumbo’s Just Desserts arrested its slide in ratings, at last, to build on last week’s audience of 657,000 (down 15% on the previous week) to finish with an audience of 681,000.

Zumbo again pipped Ten’s Australian Survivor, which lifted its audience marginally, up from 662,000 last week to draw 672,000 last night.

Nine’s Married at First Sight, on immediately after The Block at 8:40pm, also lost audience this week on last week – down from 843,000 to 814,000.

The ABC experienced a strong evening, with both Australian Story at 8:00pm and Four Corners at 8:30pm making the top 15 most-watched programs, achieving 882,000 and 733,000, respectively.

Seven’s early evening game show, The Chase Australia at 5:00pm finished with 659,000 viewers.

The Block’s strong audience helped Nine to the overall win with a 20.6% share, just ahead of Seven with 18.8% and Ten with 13.5%. The ABC outshone Ten with a share of 15.3% while SBS recorded 3.1%.
