Bondi attack pushes news audiences higher in December

The attack at Bondi Beach in mid-December drove traffic to the majority of Australia’s biggest news sites, with just news.com.au, Yahoo, and The Age losing readers during the final month of 2025.

This is according to the Ipsos iris rankings, which saw ABC News remain as the country’s most-read news site, with close to 13 million readers for the month, a 5.5% increase from the prior month. ABC News had 1.1 million more readers last month than it did in December 2024.
