Box Office: Deadpool & Wolverine beats new M. Night Shyamalan thriller

The combined might of Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe has managed to hold onto the top spot at the Australian box office for a second week in a row – despite a new M. Night Shyamalan thriller opening over the weekend.

Deadpool & Wolverine brought in $12.7 million this week, bringing its total Australian takings past $37.5 million in just two weeks.

The previous weekend, the Marvel film enjoyed the highest-grossing opening since Barbie, and the biggest opening of the year, taking in $17.6 million at the Australian box office across its Thursday-Sunday opening weekend, taking $19.9 million including preview screenings.
