Brand placement by stalking
The name Jacenko may be familiar to watchers of the Sydney publicity scene via Sweaty betty’s Roxy Jacenko.
Now sister Ruby’s in the media business too, Dr Mumbo is delighted to learn, with a new lifestyle blog Not Going Home.
To kick things off, she’s stalking Leo DiCaprio, in Sydney to film The Great Gatsby.
http://youtu.be/aPC9DjHHc-A
She tells Dr Mumbo that she’ll be returning to Leo’s place tomorrow – and wants to hear from brands that would like her to drop some product off.
What was the name of that website again?
Can she ask her sister for some media training ideally with a focus on pitch speed
Brilliant, I can’t wait to log on to notgivingashit.com.au
I don’t think she needs to ask her sister anything – she’s got guts, determination and she’s still so young, with a great career ahead of her…
is there some reason why she keeps flashing her yellow nails at the camera?
wish she’d just go home, and stay there
This sort of content dilutes the credibility of Mumbrella. This is the tackiest piece of attention grabbing, fame whore marketing I have ever seen. Get a life.
Is this person in the same industry as me? 🙁
oh dear.
“Hey Leo – have a great time in Sydney. ” from all the stalkers and dirty paps.
Let the guy have some piece and quiet instead of being harassed while working in Australia FFS. Really great image of a laid back Australia you are helping to portray here. This is something a teenager would do.
Looking tacky. Here are some production tips:
Set up a basic backdrop eg. white or black
Use lighting
Use a decent camera if you have one
Try not to set up in place where there is bad echo
Learn to use a basic editing tool like imovie
Check out ijustine on youtube as reference
agree with all of the above
I love that I spend hours and hours pitching important issues to Sunrise only to be rejected and trash like this ends up on the television. She is a mockery to my occupation….
The sooner we have laws preventing media stalkers the better.Must make stars so happy to come to Australia and help our film business, only to be harrassed by junior media cubs trying to make a name for themselves.
Bloody hell, did they record this in a bathroom? Can’t understand a word she’s saying (thank God!)
Oh this is just embarrassing… It made me cringe from start to finish… Surely no brands would want to be associated with this “stunt”…
No wonder he’s moved to the penthouse at a hotel in the city..
Somewhere between self-publicity and the faint hope of a root with LdC, lies Ruby Jacenko.
I can only imagine the brands that would run to this offer, whilst the vast majority run in the other direction.
I still would.
What a meaningful career she has in front of her. Maybe she’ll even show those knockers that said she was too short to be a model.
I just read that as “maybe she’ll show those knockers”
A logical next step, ja?
Dr Mumbo said “Ruby’s in the media business too, Dr Mumbo is delighted to learn”.
So from this do we learn Mr Dumbo:
– will publish un-newsworthy crap?
– has an infatuation with Ruby, or her sister, or average looking girls?
Now if Ruby had 100 000 members, that would be newsworthy.
😉
I suspect that “So what” is not particularly familiar with my colleague Dr Mumbo’s writing style.
Tim – Mumbrella
Hey Tim, (aka Dr Mumbo?), I get the alter-ego / sarcy writing.
Forgive me, I’m just narky as my own release was ignored, but I’m not young, nor average looking. Anyway I suppose I’d rather my release not be subjected to your subjects but be taken seriously!
Hi So what,
If you’re prepared to make a video like that, I’ll happily feature it. But I’m not sure I’d advise it as a long term strategy to build your credibility…
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
I like the part on her website where she shows us her outfit for the day.
I dont want to be rude but she seems like a bogan and has a voice that sounds like she has only achieved minimal schooling. Further, her dress sense and make up makes her look cheap and trashy.
What’s her website again? I didn’t hear her mention it…
Made it to 50 seconds and had to switch off.
Also, Tim’s comment at 26 should be printed in extremely large type and stuck on the desks of every young media relations/publicity hopeful.
Jeezuz..Love….take a frickin’ breath!
She lost me at the double hair flick – belongs at the bar in the Piano room.
This type of [Coca Cola] brand exposure [Subaru] is high risk [Smarties].
It woud [Red Bull] take a brave brand [Panadol] to want to be associated [Avion Tequila] with this
Doug
[Atomic Marketing]
Good on her for getting of her arse and having a go.
But I would seriously advise her to spend $20 on a PC microphone.
jeez! cheer up guys it was all just a bit of fun. stop being haters x
