The Briefcase debuts with 733,000 metro viewers as Love Child returns for season three
The debut of Nine’s controversial “poverty porn” reality program The Briefcase pulled in 733,000 metro viewers last night, however, it was out-rated by Ten’s Masterchef and Seven’s House Rules.
The Briefcase is based on the premise of two families each being given a briefcase containing $100,000 and offered three choices: they can keep the lot; give it all to the other family; or share a portion of their own choosing. The hook is that neither family knows the other has been given the same options.
Ten’s reality cooking show was the most-watched non-news program, pulling in 1.064m metro viewers at 6:30pm, beating Seven’s House Rules which grabbed 963,000 as the show enters finals week.
