Brittany Higgins is joining PR agency Third Hemisphere — where her husband David Sharaz also works — as the boutique firm’s director of public affairs.
In the role, Higgins will collaborate with organisations, leaders, and public figures to lead strategic advocacy and reputation management efforts.
In addition, she will also oversee stakeholder engagement, media relations, and public affairs initiatives “aimed at shaping public dialogue and driving systems change”.
It is Higgin’s first full-time role since her alleged rape in Parliament House in 2021. In an interview with The Australian Financial Review, Higgins said she wanted to “have my own identity outside this narrative of Brittany Higgins” and to “get on the tools”.
Higgins began her career as a media adviser at the federal and state governments, working across a number of ministerial portfolios including Employment, Skills, Small Business, and Defence Industry. She has worked with the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership, the Queensland Human Rights Commission, and the United Nations CEDAW Committee.

Higgins said she is proud to “contribute to the firm’s reputation as Australia’s premier female-founded PR agency”, in a media release announcing her appointment.
“This new role provides a unique opportunity to combine my strategic communications expertise with meaningful work in the private sector to drive change,” she said.
“At its core, effective communication is about clarity, credibility, and cut-through. I’m excited to help organisations and leaders craft meaningful narratives that not only resonate with the public but positively influence policy outcomes.
“Third Hemisphere understands that the right message, at the right time, can shift public dialogue and drive real-world results.”
Higgins’ husband David Sharaz joined Third Hemisphere in March, as director. The firm is led by founder and CEO Hannah Moreno and her husband, managing director Jeremy Liddle.
Moreno said the pair “couldn’t be more excited to welcome Brittany to the Third Hemisphere team”, calling her appointment a continuation of the firm’s “commitment to building a better world through courageous media engagement and advocacy”.
Liddle said Higgins joining the agency “represents a significant expansion of our strategic communications and public relations capabilities.
“Her deep expertise in public affairs, policy communications, and crisis management perfectly complements our existing strengths in technology PR, fintech communications, and ESG public relations.”
