Celebrity Splash finds a decent audience

Celebrity Splash may have been derided by the critics, but its debut was a hit for the Seven network last night, with a capital city audience of 1.315m according to preliminary overnight ratigns from OzTAM.

The show – fronted by Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies – saw celebrities such as Brynne Edelsten and Housos creator Pauly Fenech take part in a diving contest.

The show was the fourth most watched on free to air television last night.

Nine’s The Voice easily won the night, with an audience of 2.02m.

Nine’s comedy drama House Husbands rated 1.162m, just ahead of Seven’s US drama Revenge (1.033m).

Ten’s only show in the top 20 was The Biggest Loser which rated 526,000 and was 19th in all people. It was 10th in Ten’s preferred demographic of 18-49. Can of Worms rated just 344,000 and was 15th in 18-49.

In other head-to-heads, Nine News beat Seven News and Nine’s A Current Affair beat Today Tonight.

But Sunrise beat Today and The Morning Show beat Mornings.

Nine’s share for the night was 28.9 per cent, just ahead of Seven’s 25.1 per cent.

Nine also won on share for the night in 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

ABC1 had a 12.9 per cent share while ten was on 8.3 per cent.
