Channel Seven – Let’s all be there, for the next 30 years
Dr Mumbo misses those simpler times when TV executives were able to promote their networks, rather than just their programs.
If the network marketers of yesteryear were brand-builders, then today’s are direct response marketers, focused on ratings for the very next show.
So Dr Mumbo is grateful to Sydney City TV Videos for this gem from 1986.

Indeed Seven did have Many Imported Hits in the 80’s, Either from the US or UK, We Had Comedy, Drama and Movies to Fill plus Some Locally Grown Hits including A Country Practice, Sons and Daughters, Rafferty’s Rules, Kingswood Country, Hey, Dad! and Wombat. Another Local Drama called Home and Away came later on and it’s about to enter it’s 30th Year on air.
Correction: Wombat was Produced in Brisbane not Sydney, News Program Eleven AM was also on air in the 80’s. Today Seven has Four Channels, But the Main Channel just Focus on the 25-54 and 55+ Demographics in Primetime and My Kitchen Rules Dominates in the Early Months of the Year.
