Chrissie Swan, Leisel Jones and Merv Hughes among contestants on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here
The first episode of Channel Ten’s much promoted reality show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here kicked off this evening with hosts Dr Chris Brown and Julia Morris confirming it is set to run for six weeks.
Among the ten contestants going into the jungle in Africa are former Mix FM radio host Chrissie Swan, Olympic gold medal winning swimmer Leisel Jones and former test cricketer Merv Hughes.
Ten has been teasing who the celebrities being sent into the jungle will be with a series of clues, including one promising an international household name which is Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady in the 70s TV show The Brady Bunch.
Among the other contestans are The Naked Traveller Tyson Mayr, former Miss Universe Australia Laura Dundovic, former AFL player Barry Hall and TV host Andrew Daddo.
$100,000?
Keep hoping channel 10. The monkey in the promo was more famous than these deadbeats.
“The winner of the show wins $100k for the charity of their choice.” If other reports are to be believed, the “celebs” are getting paid as much as $60k per week. $100k to charity seems like chump change in comparison…
Otherwise, nothing to see here – move on. Won’t rate beyond its second week.
dad remembers one of them from the radio and another played football or something?
Once the ratings have fallen off the cliff it would be great for the show to be axed but not to tell the contestants so that they can continue with their ‘journey’ in the jungle
‘Whoop Di Doo’ – 2 things:
1. Unless you were present during negotiations, best not to assume.
2. Last night IAC Launch was the biggest for Ten in 6 years.
“Nothing to see here…”
1.92 million people disagree with you
This will either be an ironic massive success or a monumental failure.
I didn’t watch the show. my wife and I watched the Antique Road show and the Great Train Robbery.
However I did read the news online and saw the contestants and have to wonder which crypt these old celebrities were dug out of.
Perhaps the tv station should re shoot the opening as a play on Charlies Angels’
Once upon a time there were 10 aging celebrities trying to re start their careers” and so forth
there are four contestants that I’ve heard of Chrissy, Andrew, Merv and Marciano Brady …… Who are the rest of them. WHY!!!!! Marcia Brady – didn’t she retire in the 70s, like the rest of us she obviously needs money. Poor Chrissy has had to lower herself to this for wages after radio sacked her from a dam good show. Sorry channel ten, what are you doing”???????????
I thought that there had been some kind of programming change. When I switched on the television, I couldn’t see any celebrity….
Hopefully Maureen will give us some shower shots.
Julia Morris and Chris Brown are sensational as hosts. I wonder if anyone thought they were really going to get A-Grade celebs? I thought it’s a fun mix of people (even if I’m not too familiar with a couple of them).
Can Dr Mumbo compare the celebs to the cast nickname list we saw a couple of weeks ago?
Very light on the ‘celebrity’ part of ‘get me out of here’ aspect. We know Network Ten is struggling, but this is ridiculous. Maureen McCormick hasn’t done anything substantial since the 1970s. To class some of the contestants as celebrities is a real stretch.
Get Chrissie Swan off this program, so she can spend more time with her family, that’s why she quit the Circle????
Will Big Bad Bustling Bazza make light work of some these ‘celebrities’?
Tune in next week to find out!!!!!
